Vincent Valentin Gross (born 23 August 1996 in Basel ) is a Swiss singer and musician.
Since he did not have the courage to perform his songs to his friends, he initially published his songs under a pseudonym on the video platform YouTube . There he received a lot of positive feedback, after which he applied for the Swiss Talent Award in 2014. In 2015 he was allowed to perform as part of the talent competition of the Swiss primetime TV show Hello Again . The Swiss TV audience voted him the Hello Again Newcomer 2015.
In 2016, he competed in the Swiss preliminary round for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Half a Smile and came third.
In 2016 he signed his first record deal with the label Ariola / Sony Music Germany. On March 24, 2017, his debut album Rückenwind was released. In December 2017 he went on his first tour with the album in seven cities in Germany and Switzerland . On August 10, 2018, the artist's second album, Möwengold , was released . In November and December 2018 he went on tour with Möwengold and played 17 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The tour was again organized by DEAG . His two singles became airplay hits. In the German Airplay Charts (conservative pop) he reached seventh place in the annual evaluation with Dieser Beat and second place with Nordlichter . With Nordlichter he was at number one for seven weeks.
Gross ended his collaboration with Sony Music Germany at his own request. Since 2020 he has been under contract with the Munich label Telamo. Since then, the three singles Über uns die Sonne (31 January 2020, 8 weeks at #1 in the German Airplay Charts Pop-Conservative), Chill Out Time (12 June 2020, 5 weeks at #1 in the German Airplay Charts Pop-Conservative) and Ich schenke dir mein Herz (11 September 2020) have been released . On 29 January 2021, Vincent Gross' third album Hautnah was released. With Hautnah he made it into the top ten of the German album charts at #7 . In his home country, Switzerland, Hautnah reached number 1 in the album charts.
In addition to his music, Gross also works as a presenter. On September 20, 2020, he launched his own live talk format, Stars um 10 Hautnah , on Schlager für alle . Since 2021, he has hosted The Big Music Quiz on the ARD show Immer wieder sonntags .
Gross has received awards such as the SWR4 Music Award, the SWR4 Newcomer Award, the SWR4 the SMAGO Award and the Ekki Göpelt Young Talent Award. On January 13, 2019, he was presented with the award for "Hit of the Year 2018" by Radio Bayern-Plus at the big 20-year SMAGO anniversary celebration. He was also awarded the No. 1 Award in the Swiss charts for reaching number 1 in the Swiss album charts.
His new album Frei was released on October 7, 2022 by TELAMO. In September 2023, he took part in Die Verräter – Vertrauene Niemandem! and was one of the two winners. In January 2025, he took part in the celebrity special of Ninja Warrior Germany as a replacement for Luca Hänni in Jan Köppen 's team . The money raised went to the RTL foundation "Wir helfen Kindern".
In February 2025, he is one of ten candidates in the ninth season of the show Das große Promibacken .
